TEA Launches First-Ever Wildland Fire Academy

Join The Ember Alliance (TEA) for our first-ever Wildland Fire Academy, hosted in partnership with Front Range Community College (FRCC) in Fort Collins, Colorado, this April 2026. This academy is designed for individuals looking to build skills, advance their qualifications, and take the next step in wildland fire and leadership training.

All courses are offered at no cost to participants. While students are responsible for their own travel to and from Fort Collins, we anticipate being able to cover hotel lodging for participants traveling from out of town. Additional lodging and logistics details will be shared with selected applicants.

Participants can apply for the following NWCG-certified courses:

  • S-131 | Firefighter Type 1
Online pre-course work + 1 day in person (April 20)

  • S-211 | Portable Pumps and Water Use
2 days in person (April 21–22)

  • L-280 | Followership to Leadership
Online pre-course work + 2 days in person (April 23–24)

  • S-215 | Fire Operations in the Wildland Urban Interface
3 days in person (April 25–27)

We are seeking approximately 18 students per course. Interested individuals should apply using the Microsoft Form linked below. TEA staff will review applications over the coming weeks.

Please share this opportunity with colleagues, partners, and anyone in your network who may be interested in gaining hands-on wildland fire training and leadership experience.
